Replica or not, these are just cool.

Agreed. It’s a dream on mine to build a replica some day.

Nothing wrong with that. Hopefully that dream will come true for ya!

My dad taught me the Cobra “Knuckles to the bodywork” as an original or not test. Metallic sound = original. Anything else = replica.

I love that the Cobra is a little British car with a face that permanently exclaims, “It was supposed to be a Zephyr engine! AHHHHHHHH!”

There’s a few companies that make replica Cobra bodywork out of metal, one for sure in aluminum, don’t remember the other off the top of my head... Prices were well up in the 6 figure range though :P

Is it a replica?
Also I’ve still marveled that the front design concept for the Cobra was “hey don’t put any covering or lining on that frontend”:
Boss: “Joe! Just leave a huge gaping hole because racecar/because air needs to get in there!”
Joe: Okay Boss! (flies, rocks and chipmunks prepare to be splattered in a radiator fan) :P

Usually the rule of thumb is that if you see one of these one the road, it is definitely a replica! The real ones are far too expensive to drive around.
And I love your description of the front end being so bare haha
